Some heroes can inflict control effects that significantly impact the course of a battle. Heroes affected by control effects cannot perform certain actions.
Stun
The stun effect looks like a swirl of stars. А stunned hero cannot move or attack.
There are two ways to stun an opponent:
- Deal damage higher than 20% of the opponent's maximum health in one attack.
- Cast a skill that applies stun.
Blind
The blind effect looks like a crossed-out eye. A blinded hero misses any physical damage, either attacks or abilities.
Silence
The silence effect looks like a mask with a crossed-out mouth.
A silenced hero can only deal physical damage and use skills that scale with physical attack. In other words, they cannot cast skills that:
- do not deal damage (such as K'arkh's Nexus of Horror),
- deal magic damage,
- deal pure damage,
- scale with magic attack.
For example, Cornelius' ultimate skill deals physical damage but scales with magic attack. Since it depends on magic attack, he cannot use it while silenced.
Slow
The slow effect looks like a snowflake. A slowed hero has reduced basic attack speed and increased abilities' cooldowns.
Charm
The charm effect looks like a heart. A charmed hero cannot attack or cast abilities. This effect can be removed if a hero is damaged by any other character except the one who applied this effect.
Mind Control
The mind control effect looks like a spinning coin. A hero who is under the effect of mind control fights on their opponent's side and can use basic attacks and skills, except for the first ability.
Other Effects
Special signs do not mark some control effects, such as:
- Throwing in the air:
- Displacement:
Heroes that are under any displacement effect can neither attack nor use their skills. These effects can be blocked. For example, Celeste's Purifying Sphere clears and blocks negative effects, including displacement or throwing in the air.
