War Flags and their patterns give your teams additional buffs in the Arena, Grand Arena, Clash of Worlds, and Guild War combats. You can use Flags for both attack and defense teams.
When traveling around the island, you can find a War Flag Chest. After you collect it, the Chest goes to the Consumable section of your Inventory. When you open the Chest, you can select either a random Flag or Golden Threads as a reward.
To view your Flags, select Heroes on the main game screen.
War Flag of Fervor increases energy gain for tank heroes by 10%
War Flag of Pet Strength increases pet skill power by 10%. It only affects the pet you select for a fight. Patronage pets do not get bonuses.
War Flag of Decline decreases the opponent team's healing by 10%.
War Flag of Swift Warriors makes warrior heroes’ skills recharge 5% faster.
War Flag of Frost casts Frost on rivals every 18 seconds, reducing their skill levels by 2 for 8 seconds.
War Flag of Recovery increases all healing by 10%.
War Flag of Readiness provides 100 energy to the rearmost hero of your team at the beginning of a battle. The effect recurs every 20 seconds. Each red pattern inserted into the flag increases the bonus energy by 20.
War Flag of Vanguard heals the front hero in your team every 4 seconds for 1.6% of their max health, and additionally for 0.3% for every inserted red pattern.
At the start of a battle, the Flag of Bastion increases all allies' armor by 30% of the front hero's armor. The effect weakens gradually to 5% over 20 seconds. Each red pattern inserted into the flag prolongs the effect for 3 seconds.
War Flag of Steel Storm increases the physical damage dealt by a skill to several opponents at once by 12%. Each red pattern inserted into the flag increases damage by 3%.
War Flag of False Immortality gives heroes a 10% vampiric aura. The amount of health available for recovery is limited to 3% of the team's maximum health. Each red pattern inserted into the flag increases this limit by 0.7%.
You can buff your Flags by inserting patterns in them. Patterns give additional bonuses to the entire team, not just the heroes or pets specified by a Flag. You can find patterns on a Seasonal Adventure Island, just like Flags.
Each Flag has three pattern slots, and you can only insert patterns of different types. For example, it is impossible to insert two or three magic attack increase patterns into one Flag.
Patterns are common for all four Flags. If you insert a pattern into one Flag, then change your mind and wish to insert the pattern into another Flag, you will need to remove the pattern from the first Flag.
Note: Free removal is available only to white-level patterns. Starting from green-level patterns, you need gold or emeralds (depending on the pattern level) to remove a pattern. The higher the pattern level, the higher the removal price.
You can find information about your patterns in the Patterns tab.
Your Flags and patterns used in them.
Your unused patterns. The number in the lower-right corner of the pattern icon shows how many patterns you have.
Patterns have several levels and are upgraded gradually from white to red level: white → green → blue → violet → orange → red → ultimate. The higher the level, the better the bonus a pattern provides.
To upgrade a pattern, you need to merge two patterns of the same level and type. When selecting a pattern for an upgrade, the game will automatically choose another pattern from the same level and type if you have one in the Inventory.
Note: The second pattern is spent on the upgrade.
To upgrade a pattern, you also need a Golden Thread. You can obtain this resource by unraveling spare patterns or from War Flag Chests.
To unravel a pattern, go to your Inventory and open the Patterns tab. Then select the required pattern and click Unravel.
Note: When you unravel the pattern, it disappears.
To upgrade a pattern to the Ultimate level, you will need only Golden Threads. So, a second pattern of the same type is not required.
When upgrading a pattern to the Ultimate level, you get a random increase between the minimum and maximum percentage. To get a higher increase, you can try to enhance the pattern again.
The upgrade will be applied only if you get a higher bonus than the current one. In this case, you will see the Success message on the screen. If the received bonus is lower than the current one, you will see the Failure message in the upgrade window.
Note: Each increase attempt requires Golden Threads. Even if the pattern upgrade is not successful, your Golden Threads will still be used.
To see all the possible Ultimate level bonuses and the chance of getting them, hover the cursor over the "i" icon in the upper-right corner of the Pattern Upgrade window.
