Top 10 Heroes: Hero Rating Edition

Heroes are the core of the Hero Wars: Dominion Era gameplay. So when you gather your team at the start of your journey, it is vital to make an informed choice. That is where Hero Rating comes in.

Hero Rating allows you to check what other players think of each hero, as it shows the average score based on player assessments. The rating is updated daily and is shared across all servers on the same platform.

Also, even if a hero's rating is lower than that of other heroes, it does not mean that this hero will not be useful in battle. Remember: the key to success in Hero Wars: Dominion Era is hero combinations and strategic team building.

Once you promote your hero to the Orange+4 rank, you can rate them. To do so, select a hero and go to the Stats tab.

You will receive 50 emeralds for the first rating of each hero! You can change your rating at any time. However, you will not receive emeralds for updating your rating.

Top 10 Heroes According to Hero Rating

Note: This article is not an ultimate guide to heroes but just a glimpse at the variety of characters Hero Wars: Dominion Era has. As new characters appear frequently, the game balance is constantly changing. Thus, the top 10 heroes presented here may be different at the time you are reading this.

There are many heroes with ratings of 4.8 or higher, so to keep the list concise, we selected 10 of the highest-rated ones. We also excluded universally popular heroes, such as Astaroth, Aurora, or Martha, as they are widely recognized for their effectiveness and work well in nearly any team.

Here they are in alphabetical order:

  1. Amira.
  2. Celeste.
  3. Dante.
  4. Heidi.
  5. Iris.
  6. Isaac.
  7. Lyria.
  8. Nebula.
  9. Orion.
  10. Sebastian.
Amira

Amira targets heroes based on their main stat — intelligence, agility, or strength.

Amira's skill Desperate Fury boosts critical hit chance for all opponents with an agility main stat. However, it then causes all of their critical hits to miss. That is especially effective against physical teams. It is also a great counter to the heroes who rely on critical hits, such as Yasmine, Sebastian, Jet, and Jhu

The Illusory Alliance skill helps against heroes with the strength main stat. It conjures an illusion for them, forcing them to transfer all buffs to that illusion. It is useful against tanks.

For Amira to be effective, she needs to stay alive long enough. Make sure to provide her with support to help her survive.

Celeste

Celeste is a unique and versatile hero who excels as both a healer and a mage. Whenever Celeste activates her ultimate, she switches between Dark and Light Forms. In Dark Form, she deals magic damage and blocks opponent healing with Cursed Flame. In Light Form, she heals herself and allies. Her ability to consistently counter other healers makes Celeste truly one of a kind. She is also one of the few heroes who can clear and block negative effects with her Purifying Sphere effect.

In addition, Celeste is one of only three heroes whose basic attacks deal magic damage. She is also the only one whose Artifact Weapon grants a bonus for 4.5 seconds instead of the usual 9.

Dante

Dante uses his skills to throw spectral spears at opponents, dealing substantial physical damage. His playstyle revolves around dodge, allowing him to avoid incoming attacks while remaining a constant threat on the battlefield.

His Foresight skill also increases the dodge stat for all his allies, which increases the survivability of the entire team. When a hero dodges an attack, they gain the same amount of energy they would have received if the hit had landed. This makes Dante surprisingly effective on the front line, as he can quickly gain energy by dodging — or even by taking hits.

In addition, his Shackles of Weakness skill reduces the target’s main stat, which can provide a significant advantage.

Heidi

Heidi is often underestimated, but he can be extremely powerful when properly built and supported by the right team. One of his key strengths is that three of his skills deal pure damage, which cannot be reduced in any way.

In addition, his violet skill, Spy Camo, increases his chance to dodge attacks. Each successful dodge grants Heidi bonus energy equal to what he would have gained from taking the hit. His artifact also provides a dodge bonus to the entire team, creating strong synergy with other dodge-based heroes, such as Aurora.

Iris

Iris is a devastating backline mage capable of dealing massive pure damage and eliminating even the toughest tanks. Her skill, Expose Soul, deals significant damage to the nearest opponent, ignoring both armor and magic defense, making her especially effective against high-defense heroes.

Despite her power, Iris is fragile and depends on team support to survive. She also struggles against heroes like Jorgen, who can prevent her from activating her ultimate, and Rufus, who cannot be killed with pure damage.

Isaac

Isaac is a strong counter to mages. His ultimate skill, Tes'Lin's Overdrive, silences opponents, preventing them from using magic-based attacks. Once activated, it can disable the entire rival team before they have a chance to fight back.

His green skill absorbs part of the magic damage dealt to Isaac and his allies, which boosts charge generation for his first skill. Isaac also increases the physical attack of his allies, further strengthening damage dealers.

Lyria
Liria_SplashPreview_2025_forPortal.webp

Lyria is a direct counter to dodge heroes, as her aura reduces the dodge stat of all opponents within its area of effect. The size of this area scales with the number of undead heroes on the team (including Morrigan’s skeletons), so it is better to include as many as possible.

Lyria provides strong support to physical marksmen, with particularly powerful synergy with Keira. Lyria’s Bonds of Alliance skill links her to Keira, allowing both heroes to heal through vampirism. Since Keira is undead, this skill also provides both Keira and Lyria with a physical attack bonus.

When Lyria activates her ultimate, Soul Reaper, she summons vengeful spirits that target the opponent with the lowest health. Each time someone dies on the battlefield, she adds one additional spirit, up to a maximum of ten. This makes summoners like Mushy and Shroom, Elmir, and Morrigan particularly valuable, as their summoned units also count — allowing Lyria to scale rapidly to maximum power.

Nebula

Nebula is not only an effective healer but also one of the strongest supports. Her Equilibrium skill enhances the effectiveness of damage dealers in battle. The skill switches Nebula's basic attacks to support mode, which boosts the physical and magical attack of one nearby ally for a duration of 5 seconds. If you unlock her ascension skill, Astral Balance Projection, two allies get Equilibrium.

Her Serenity skill restores the health of two nearby allies and also removes negative effects from them. Nebula can cast the skill on herself if only one ally is in battle.

Orion

Orion can be a dangerous hero capable of dealing massive magic damage to multiple opponents. His skill, Total Destruction, launches six magic missiles at the rivals with the highest health, dealing area damage.

Thanks to his ascension skill, Tactical Destruction, Orion fires additional rockets at targets that are stunned or slowed. This creates strong synergy with heroes who can apply these effects, though Orion can also stun and slow opponents with his own abilities.

Sebastian

Sebastian is one of the most impactful support heroes in the game. He excels at countering control debuffs while significantly boosting the damage output of physical attackers, making him a core pick in many teams.

His ultimate, Ode to Serenity, removes debuffs from all allies and grants a shield that prevents new ones from being applied. His green skill, Battle Song, increases allies’ critical hit chance for 5 seconds, while Striking Solo makes their critical hits deal additional pure damage. As a result, critical hits become significantly more lethal and bypass damage reduction.

Finally, his Public Idol skill grants energy at the start of battle, helping Sebastian quickly activate his ultimate and protect the team from early control effects.
